Touch Type

Multiple / 16mm / Ongoing

Existing as an abecedarium of twenty-six moving-image chapters, Touch Type charts our broad transition from tangible to digital interactions with language, each other and the wider world. From various corners of the UK, myriad voices present a collective discourse on shifting communication technologies and how these shape expression through their temporal and material characteristics. Showcasing an array of intergenerational perspectives, including those of people living with single and dual sensory loss, the work considers the value of the physical world and the role of unmediated experience in shaping human understanding, rhythm and connection.
